The book is time-consuming not least because my youngest wanted to stay on the one page and look at the one character, who she determined was a monster! This wouldn't be my choice for a bedtime story...

T. T. Khing (Th-Tjong Khing) was born in Java, Indonesia, and studied in the Netherlands. He began his career as a cartoonist and later focused on childrens books. Khing is now one of the Netherlands most celebrated illustrators, having received several prestigious awards. His books have been translated into numerous languages, and his art was recently included in a well-regarded exhibition of art from the Netherlands, which traveled to the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art, among other venues.
