When Judy Mills Price loses her job as a cookbook editor at a publishing house, she's more than a little depressed. Her financial whiz husband, Hunter Dean Price III, won't be much of a summer companion since he spends all his free time at The Oaks, the country club where he's become a pink-and-green-plaid-panted golf junkie. He suggests she give the club a try, make new friends and network, and begrudgingly she does - only to be banned from the Men's Grill, consigned to B-list tennis and stuck listening to the gossip of other golf widows.
Then Judy meets an unexpected ally in Claire Cox, an ardent feminist attorney who's determined to bring changes to The Oaks and make it more female friendly - until she's found clubbed to death with a pitching wedge on the fourth hole.
Hunky detective Tom Cunningham asks Judy to go undercover at The Oaks to investigate, and she's only too happy to accept. Along the way, she finds herself evolving from a conventional wife into a daring woman, willing to risk her life to bring a killer to justice and a husband to his senses.
