Synopsis

A Christian suspense thriller.
 
Carline Lissade has lost her entire family due to the rigors of life in Haiti. Her latest attempt to support herself goes terribly wrong, and she has to flee for her life. While on the run, she meets a United States senator from Florida, who has traveled to Haiti to negotiate a trade agreement. He is smitten with her, and he arranges for her to relocate to Florida. Carline believes that a move to the states may keep her out of danger. However, the bloodthirsty men pursuing her do not give up easily. As the men pull out all stops to find Carline, she gets accustomed to a new country, stirs the jealousy of the senator's estranged wife, and reconnects with a Mennonite friend who has challenges of his own. Will she find the connections and contentment she so desperately yearns for in her new land? Can she survive the encroaching danger? Will those around her survive?

Louis N Jones is the author of seven books, including three novels. He has been cultivating his writing talents since he was 5 years old. He was ordained as a minister in 2003 and now serves as the assistant pastor of Christian Conquest Word of God Church in Washington, DC. At his church, he directs several ministries, including the children and youth ministry and the drama ministry. His first novel, Prodigal in the City, was derived from his experiences as the director of an organization that assisted men and women upon release from prison. As an author, he is fulfilling his lifelong dream to provide wholesome information and entertainment to those who desire to live a vibrant and fruitful life in Christ. He resides in Maryland.
