Augustus Jessopp was an English cleric and writer. He worked as a school master and then later as a clergyman in Norfolk, England. Jessopp often contributed to the Nineteenth Century. These Essays have appeared at various times in The Nineteenth Century. Essays included are The coming of the Friars, Village Life in Norfolk Six Hundred Years Ago, Daily Life in a Medieval Monastery, The Black Death in East Anglia, The Black Death in East Anglia (continued), The Building Up of a University, and The Prophet of Walnut-Tree Yard.
