Synopsis

Her husband's funeral was huge, but Pamela Reynolds decided she didn't like his friends and cashmere coated clients and planned to move. The change from New York City to the country of upstate Saratoga, New York is dramatic and welcome. She buys a famous old actress's run down cottage and decides to restore it back to its glory days. Salvatore Scarlotti was her husband's chief client at his accounting firm. As head of the largest crime family in New York City he has been agonizing over whether to let the widow Reynolds live because of the secrets and knowledge she may or may not have. He decides that prudence and security is wiser than taking a chance and sets in motion the highly dubious and momentous events about to unfold. Finding secrets her husband left for her protection that instead could cost her her life Pamela finds herself surrounded by the very real danger, Pamela finds herself under matched against the whole Scarlotti clan at The Cottage with a fire chief, some local cops, and two heroic and unexpected allies.
