She never imagined she'd be widowed before the honeymoon was over...
After being raised in the foster care system, meeting and marrying the love of her life was a dream come true for Jess Bentley. For the first time in her memory, she would have a family of her own. But the dream turns into a nightmare when a drug-crazed thief shoots and kills her husband, leaving Jess alone again, trapped in the depths of despair, and struggling to find a reason to go on.

Knowing he could have prevented the tragedy, there's nothing he won't do to make it right...
Weighed down by guilt, Dan Mulholland is desperate to find a way to make life easier for the widow of the man his brother murdered. When he learns that she's pregnant, and that her father-in-law is threatening to take the child from her, there seems to be only one course of action. Marry her and adopt the baby.

It was during the course of a 9th grade creative writing class that I was struck by the writing bug. I'd only signed up for it because I wanted to be an editor on the school paper. Mostly because I'd hoped might give me the opportunity to interview the good looking student teacher in my drama class. I actually did get to do that interview, only I was so nervous I could hardly open my mouth! As an adult I realize he probably knew I had a crush on him...Anyway, thanks to the encouragement of another student teacher, Linda Marks, this one in the writing class I mentioned, I'm sitting here today. She instilled a love of creating stories that has given me great pleasure for most of my life. I'd always enjoyed reading, and still do. But there's just something so amazing about breathing life into characters. About creating a world where I control everything that happens. Usually. Sometimes it seems like the characters take over if they don't like where I'm going with the story though. Yeah, weird...But now I want to share them, and their stories, with you. And hope that you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them.
