This light-hearted romantic comedy set in the Scottish Highlands explores the themes of love, loyalty and class conflict in an entertaining romp on the heels of a maverick dog.
Fiona Buchanan is a young writer and historian who moves from Edinburgh to an old cottage in the Scottish Highlands to immerse herself in the landscape while she concentrates on the book she is writing. But her attempts to look after a loveable but irascible dog land her in the dog house with her new neighbours, the Parkers, who live in a nearby castle. Colin Parker is part of a rich and exclusive social set who are known for not mixing with the locals, but he takes an interest in Fiona after hearing her speak at a function, not realising that she is the dog’s owner. Despite her initial reluctance about their class differences, Fiona is slowly won over by the charming Colin as they introduce each other to their separate worlds until the dog’s misbehaviour tears apart their hard-won relationship and forces them to decide for themselves what really matters.
