Silva's ability to switch from a plot involving Hezbollah and the Vatican in the prior book to completely different more cold war plot and new world economics is a mark of his singular talent. This volume has all of the familiar Allon plot elements, but it all works.

Although a little long at 473 pages, THE ENGLISH GIRL is a fast paced well written spy mystery that has many twists and turns. Things are never as they seem and the ending is a real surprise. Anyone who enjoys a good spy mystery will enjoy this book.
