The author writes in a simple, rolling narrative without excessive attention to detail. This keeps the pace even throughout and the reader absorbed.

I definitely recommend this book to horror fans who love the classics. I can’t actually say I found the novel to be scary, though that may be due to reading it years after seeing the movie repeatedly. All of the scares had been revealed, and there weren’t any in the book that didn’t make the film.

So to conclude, the book is very well written, and very easy to immerse yourself into. I also think that, for those of you not particularly fond of being scared, that the psychology and conflict set up between science and religion might be interesting enough to get you past the horror scenes!
