Heading the Emergency Department of a busy hospital is all that Dr. Kate MacNaughton has time for. She certainly doesn't have the time or the need for any other commitments, especially not for Mike Lawrence, the firefighter who is a painful reminder of her late husband's tragic death. For Mike, winning Kate's heart, although difficult, is not impossible, but convincing her to take a chance on another firefighter just might be.

A late bloomer, Margery didn't start writing until she found herself with an empty nest, some free time, and an old standard typewriter. The nest is still empty, but the typewriter has been replaced by a computer, and free time is a thing of the past. When she's not writing or traveling in search of the perfect setting for her next novel, you can usually find her wielding a pair of knitting needles or a pool cue. A transplanted Scot, Margery now lives with her husband on a lake near Toronto, Canada.
