A family from North Carolina gets lost on the backroads of Kentucky in the rain. They run out of gas and walk down the road looking for a place to call for help. Finding one lone house where no one is home but the door is unlocked, they take refuge. Soon they discover they have only three ghosts for company. Ed and Penny Wroe, their teenage daughter, Crissy and four-year-old twins, Andy and Candy, have one adventure after another.
