Michael Korda is the former editor in chief of Simon & Schuster and is the author of many books. He was born on October 8, 1933 in London, England, and is the nephew of Hungarian-born film magnate Sir Alexander Korda. Korda served in the Royal Air Force as is evident in some of his subject matter but his interests are varied. His books include, Hero: The Life and Legend of Lawrence of Arabia (Harper 2010), With Wings Like Eagles: A History of the Battle of Britain (Harper 2009), and Cat People, co-authored with his wife Margaret, (HarperCollins 2005). Michael Korda lives in Dutchess County, New York. He was a major part of Simon & Schuster for over 40 years and was responsible for accepting books that started the careers of writers like Harold Robbins and Jacqueline Susann in the 1960s. The content of their novels was seen as very for that time period.
