Fifty-year-old Martin, slightly under average tall, falls in love with Christine of twenty-four, the character of a book he is writing following a mysterious urge. He chisels her with the best grace and virtues natyre endows an angel, just like Pygmalion did with his sculpture, Galatea. Believing a written story is always a true one in real life, the Albanian Martin leaves everything to set off with throbbing heart in quest of the Greek Christine in Santa Monica where he has set the story. She is there waiting for him without knowing, to love him divinely. Martin lives his book chapter by chapter under a burden of dilemmas for he knows the suspense end. Destiny is there, weaving everybody’s shroud.

Vladimir is an Albanian, born in Durres, in 1950 and lives in Fier, Albania. Following graduation in English at the University of Tirana, worked for twenty years as a technical translator and interpreter. Afterwards, he went on working for foreign oil and mineral companies in Albania, which took him to different countries - USA, UK, Germany etc. He has written, translated and published in local newspapers and magazines essays, articles, poetry, humour. “The Last Chapter” is his first novel followed by three books of poetry: “Mona Lisa’s crying”, “As if I knew..” and “You and me”. Presently, he is a freelancer teaching English in a private middle school and an English Teaching Center in Fier.
