Cole Egan is hard at work at Gilchrist &Company, a powerful investment bank, desperate to discover the trade that will help launch him out of debt and secure his job, when he receives a telephone call that will change his life forever. An unidentified voice tells Cole that his father has died, and that at the reception desk there is a package waiting for him. In it, Cole finds his father's death certificate, and a key. Cole follows the cryptic instructions inside the package, and locates the safety deposit box that matches the key. When he retrieves the video inside, Cole discovers the valuable legacy his father has left him--a tape of the John F. Kennedy assassination, filmed from the opposite side of Dealey Plaza--a tape that offers absolute proof that Lee Harvey Oswald hadn't acted alone, if at all

Stephen Frey is a best-selling author of novels set in the financial world. He is the managing director of a private equity firm. He started out his career working in mergers and aquisitions at JP Morgan and served as a vice president of corporate finance at an international bank headquartered in Manhattan. Fey's first books were all standalone stories. It was with the publication of The Chairman in which he introduced the character Chritian Gillette that Stephen Frey began writing a series with the same character. He published four books about Gillettte and his ties to the private equity firm of Everest Capital. His novel The Fourth Order discusses the issue of domestic spying but is set in the world of high finance. His most recent book is Heaven's Fury. Currently, he is a principal at a Northern Virginia private equity firm.

He views the tape, which also shows that his father, a somewhat mysterious man who left Cole to be raised by an aunt and uncle after his mother was killed by maurading hippies, was at Dealey Plaza on that fateful day in 1963.
