Yvonne Marnak is a sassy, attractive and some would say, hard-nosed Detective Inspector - more than capable of holding her own in the male dominated police force of 1970’s Britain. So why has she disobeyed a direct order and followed her quarry into a storm that threatens the very fabric of civilisation. She is supposed to be helping with the relief effort to shore up London from the raging tempest, not chasing down old cases.
It is an obsession, one that will finally end her career.
And what of her quarry? One Aaron O’Connor. His children have been abducted, or so he maintains, echoing the disappearance of his beloved wife Ecila, four years ago. He claims that a Shadow from his nightmares has taken the children. Utterly absurd; as too the mention of the assassin named Demetrius, who supposedly been sent to kill him. It all feels oblique, like she is chasing something that does not seem real.
But the storm is real, and in the windswept streets as she watches her prey, the demon Belial watches her. It has a gift to bestow her; one that has been sent down the ages by a Warlock. A Warlock who weaves his final spell atop Mount Odium’s bloodied sides. A spell that will twist time and space itself, to prevent a Dark Lord from claiming the ultimate prize.
So begins the Lokkr chronicles, where reality, is not what it seems.
