This is a story of a plant described on Cherokee legend.. Only a princess can smell the flower, but if a man and a woman are exposed to the essence, the man falls deeply in love. Three scientists are recruited by a representative of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to produce and develop the extract for interrogation. A prisoner would be exposed to the smell in the presence of a female agent, and would subsequently be unable to refuse her anything. The three scientists have various adventures, save a woman about to be convicted of a murder she didn't commit, etc.

This story has been gestating some 20 years. In an earlier incarnation, my next door neighbor and prize winning detective story author said "It's too autobiographical... write one to get it out of your system. So I followed her advice and Asylum; a mid century mad-house and its lessons about out mentally ill today.resulted. Now, with my fantasies unleashed, I have done a novel that is free of autobiographical clutter. I hope the reader finds it mostly fun, and still tolerably educational.
