The Mayan Mysteries is based on a real life mystery – the disappearance of the ancient Maya. It’s also about the inner transformation of a young Canadian girl.

In the days leading to Josephine’s fifteenth birthday her mother announces she may now meet her father, a man her mother had never spoken of before. In fact her mother now insists that she must meet him, babbling some nonsense about her “destiny”.

Hurt and angry at her mother’s years of deception, Josephine finally agrees to meet him and quickly her life’s path spins in an exciting new direction. She has barely had time to get used to having a father, when he vanishes again.

Josephine embarks on a journey, accompanied by Xanthaw, a Mayan high priest from the ancient past and Juan, a young man who acts as her protector and guide. She and her companions battle the dark forces in a series of adventures through Mexico, Peru and far off Egypt.
