This course brings together knowledge accumulated through archaeology to enlarge our understanding of early human civilizations in a global sense. It investigates the origins and development of states and civilizations across the world from a comparative and analytical perspective. The course is contained in a series of 48 30-minute lectures given by Professor Scott McEachern of Bowdoin College.
