The night before Alex Koukos went away to college he found out that his father had once tried to kill him. Five years later his girlfriend has a miscarriage and he tells her he's glad because the baby would have ruined his life. Set in the Texas suburbs of the early 90's, amongst the "lower-upper class", The Other Side of Here chronicles Alex Koukos's less than triumphant return home after five years of self imposed family exile and his attempt to reconcile the uncertainties of his past with the uncertainties of his future and figure out why exactly he is unable to care about anything.
