Tiko knows that he's a parrot, he just doesn't know that Joanna Burger, his supposed owner, isn't. So every spring, Tiko begins courting the ornithologist: preening, showing signs of affection, and attacking her husband, Mike, so fiercely that he sometimes draws blood. Burger's memoir of her parrot-ruled life educates while it amuses.
