The Power of Prayer is a very powerful book. Prayer brings you closer to God. When you pray it is your way of talking to God on an intimate level, just you and Him one on one. God loves to hear from His children and there is nothing that God wouldn't do to make you happy. We take things for granted at times and never think about who is really in control of our lives and this world. When you reflect and think about who woke you up this morning, who but breath in your body, who let you be able to hear the alarm clock, who let you be able to sleep and slumber through the night without anyone breaking in on you and who allowed you to wake up in your right mind. These are great reasons for you to pray all the time without ceasing. The power that God gives you will only come through the prayer line that you have with Him. God will reveal things to you that He will show no other person in regards to your life and the boldness you will have knowing that we serve an awesome God. When we pray we can do the unthinkable because prayer changes things. God knows everything about us because He made us and He knows our thoughts before we even think it. Just to hear Gods voice directing us in the way that we should go is a powerful thing. Just think if the whole world prays together what a mighty nation we would be. There is Power in Prayer and big responsibility that comes from God, if we are ready to trust in God and except the Power that comes with it. God is looking for a people to stand on His word and only His word to do what is right and never giving the evil one a thought. This can only happen if we keep our mind stayed on God.

Karen Wilkinson-Wahls was born in Detroit Michigan. She taught at Stewart Elementary school when she was 18 years old. She taught just about all of the children in her neighbor including some of her brothers, sisters and cousins. Karen was a role model to all of her peers and the younger children growing up. As time went on Karen moved on and begin teaching at St.Timothy Lutheran School of Detroit. She begin teaching children of the students that she had taught. This is when Karen knew what a big impact she had on the lives of her students she had taught. For them to grow up and remember her and to respect her enough for her to teach their children was a blessing. That let her know that she had made a positive influence on their lives. While going to church and still hanging out she had this feeling that something was missing in her life. She taught religion class at school and it was then that her life began to change even more. Some of her parents would come and ask for her advice and she would always go to the word of God for encouraging words to lift them up or even pray for them. This was not only helpful to her parents, it was also helping her for what God wanted her to do. She began focusing more on the word of God and what her purpose was in life. Karen began dedicating more time to the church. She was Adult Sunday School Teacher, She was Women Day Speaker, She is over the Christmas and Easter Programs, She is over Vacation Bible School, She is Trustee in the Church, She was called to Evangelize and She ran for Detroit City Council. Karen was obedient to the Lord and speaks where ever she is needed teaching the word of God to all who believe and who would like to believe. In 1999 Karen started writing her first book There is Hope. When it was finished she let her mother read the only copy that she had. After her mom had read it she was very excited and told Karen to follow her dream and get it published. Something got in the way and several years went by, she gave the book some thought, but for some reason she could not focus on the book so she just let it go. In August 2006 her nephew Nathan got shot down in the streets of Detroit. This broke her heart and she couldn't understand how this could have happened. In December 2006 her mother died she was devastated. Her world, her mom, her best friend, her big sister, her spiritual advisor, her prayer partner, her all and all. They shared a birthday together, March 17. After going through her moms things she came across her book that she had written, There is Hope. It was than when she realized that she could not have published the book because these two chapters had to be added to her book, The Miracle and The Letter. Karen learned that we all have a purpose on this earth. It is only when we truly come out of the world and put our trust in God, then and only then will He reveal it to us and order our steps in this life.
