When Pete picks up a new pup from Borro down at the local pub, he hopes he has picked up a high bread working dog that will make the Overseer proud. Despite the endearing qualities of the little mutt though, it's antics with sheep leave much to be desired and Pete is left to worry how long he'll be able to keep him, until a visitor to the station arrives and with him, new possibilities for the life of the pup.

From emerging writer Peter Rake, author of Notty: Targaroo's Disgrace Bar-fly, bludger and sneak-thief turned unlikely hero, The Awakening and On Swallow's Wings.
