From growing up during a simple time to dealing with the struggles of life, The Serious Business of Laughing at Life takes you on a sometimes serious, but often humorous tour of the life of Kevin Trees, one of only a handful of above-knee amputee police officers in the country. His book highlights an unwavering spirit of determination to overcome a life changing accident that left him for dead and his fight to return to the career he loved. Since that day that changed his life forever, Kevin has worn many hats to include a helicopter crewman, a homicide detective featured on the First48 on A&E, an actor, a football coach, a mentor, a public speaker and a teacher. Today he is serving as a sergeant with the Louisville Metro Police Department. Kevin is happily married and a father of two. In his spare time, he enjoys working out, traveling, writing and composing music and coaching his kids. He resides in Louisville, Kentucky with his family, his adopted cat named Peyton, and Lexi his American Eskimo.
