Synopsis

A terrific, unprecedented collection of 55 songs written for and sung in the movies, with a completely different selection of songs for women and men singers. The songs and movies date from the beginning of the sound era up through Aladdin, with a majority coming from the hey-day of the movie musical in the 1930s, 1940s and 1950s. Many of these songs were written for the likes of Fred Astaire, Ginger Rogers, Judy Garland, Gene Kelly, and Frank Sinatra. The songs are presented in the original sheet music editions. Each volume includes a 30-page section of historical and plot notes about each movie represented as well as photos from the movies.
