Schaeffer Executive Officer of the Institute of Medicine (IOM) of the National Academies.  She is responsible for managing the IOM’s programs, including its authoritative studies on obesity prevention.  Dr. Salerno earned her M.D. and M.S. degrees from Harvard.In addition to producing HBO's The Weight of the Nation, JOHN HOFFMAN was the series producer of two-time Emmy® winner The Alzheimer’s Project and the producer of the Emmy® Governors Award-winning documentary series Addiction. A vice president of HBO Documentary Films, he has spent the past fifteen years creating, producing, and supervising documentary programming for HBO.
