Synopsis

Paul Copeland, a New Jersey county prosecutor, is still grieving the loss of his sister twenty years ago-the night she walked into the woods, never to be seen again. ...Coben’s fondness for playing out twist after twist long after most tale-spinners would have packed it in makes his yarn seem urgent but not terribly consequential, because unlike most of the author’s heroes (Promise Me, 2006, etc.), Paul never feels as if he’s in real danger. All the surprises you’d expect from Coben, but a lot fewer thrills.

The mysteries that propel the novel are the most intriguing that the author has ever devised. Perhaps most importantly, however, it features enough riveting characters to fill three (or more) books.

...I found the action to be compelling -- one of those novels that will keep you up well into the night. For that reason, I'd recommend picking it up -- especially as a beach or vacation read.
