Folktales can be tales of truth handed down for generations.
An Ethiopian Earth Mother had been rumored to exist for eons.
The back story: The Ethiopian folktale of Nana Bubu was taken home to Germany by German-African pioneers during World War II. This rumor reached Hitler, who created a manhunt for a young, beautiful Ethiopian woman who had survived, unaged, for thousands of years. When it was rumored General Rommel kept company with an Italian Archeologist and his beautiful assistant, a multi-lingual African woman, they arrested Rommel on the ruse that he was involved in the plot to kill Hitler. The Gestapo found Herta and brought her to Ravensbruck to study her.
The story of Book One begins: Even though present at the German surrender, General Eisenhower didn't sign the German surrender documents because he was hearing the pleas of Ivan Kimirov, a defecting Russian soldier/interpreter and his friend Herta, a woman of African decent. and former prisoner of Ravensbruck.
Granting them amnesty, General Eisenhower requesting the assistance and confidence of his personal navigator Lt. Charles Larsen, they brought them to England, then home to the U.S., separated them and briefly sheltered the woman with Mrs. Roosevelt and so the secret began and was buried for decades until Charles' four year old daughter overheard the plan and innocently duplicated the map of the 100 year old plan to hide Herta.
Charles had to reluctantly elicit help from a CIA psychiatrist friend and together they hypnotize and program his young, gifted, daughter with the secret to keep it deep within her eidetic memory, then as an adult, her memory would unlock in 2015. The buried secret now nearly seventy years is suddenly breached twice; once with an unintentional leak of the buried, mis-filed Eisenhower 8 May 1945 flight manifest to the Freedom of Information website. Innocent information unless you know its meaning.
The curious and spoiled Billionaire's jet-setting grand-daughter Mavra Kimirov just happens to find an old briefcase containing old German documents in her Grandfather Ivan's safe in his Park Avenue apartment.
Now Mavra Kimirov wants to find who may know of Herta other than her Grandfather, then find Herta to study her lack of aging, expose her to greedy scientists as our Most Recent Common Ancestor, m-Eve, and exploit her DNA for pharmaceuticals and profit. Murder is just part of Mavra's game plan. Even her own grandfather Ivan, is expendable.
A retired, underground network of former intelligence operatives formed a security group called Metaphor headed by Charles' confidant, the former CIA psychiatrist. Metaphor fails in their mission to protect Elise Larsen Andersen's family, Charles' daughter, now a well known attorney from Mavra Kimirov. The hunt for Elise, the secret holder and Herta is on.
