if the book did not have Robert A Heinlein on the front to garuntee sales, I doubt whether a publisher would have touched it with a barge pole.

Synopsis

From the New York Times bestselling author of Starship Troopers and the first Grand Master of Science Fiction...

Lazarus Long 1916-4272

The capstone and crowning achievement of Heinlein's famous Future History, Time Enough for Love follows Lazarus Long through a vast and magnificent timescape of centuries and worlds. Heinlein's longest and most ambitious work, it is the story of a man so in love with Life that he refused to stop living it; and so in love with Time that he became his own ancestor.

Robert A Heinlein is considered one of the Big Three of classic science fiction (along with Isaac Asimov and Arthur C. Clarke). Heinlein is a seven-time Hugo Award recipient and was given the first Grand Master Nebula Award for lifetime achievement. Heinlein's juveniles alone have influenced generations of scientists, engineers and creators the world over (for instance, it was once estimated that everyone in the Apollo 11 mission control room had read and loved at least one Heinlein novel). His worldwide bestsellers include "Have Space Suit--Will Travel, Stranger in a Strange Land, Starship Troopers, Time Enough for Love", and "The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress".

SF's grand old man still has energy, verve and a genius for making outrageous premises, say the advisability of incest, seem perfectly reasonable.
