Travesty: A Love Story weaves a tale around race relations in America during the Montgomery Bus Boycott, which took place in the course of one year, ending on December 1956. Travesty relates to the tale of a forbidden interracial relationship during the Boycott, which led to lies, treachery, and murder. The story is told by a former Klansman who has to explain his involvement in this murder that occurred forty years earlier in his life to his African American attorney.
