Terrorism is rampant. Foreign agents are after the multiplier, the key link in cold fusion, a new means of energy production. Robert Flick, a disgraced US agent, is trying to redeem himself and make sense of it all. Flick, a former star of Naval Intelligence, failed in his biggest assignment and is relegated to doing security background checks. Fortunately his skills have not deteriorated. Flick manages to head off two terrorism attacks, the first on a synagogue, the second on the President. The President gives Flick free reign to address the terrorism rampage as he sees fit. Flick leaves the employ of the dragon lady who heads the security clearance office and undertakes this mission.
There is science, locales, world travel destinations, action, chases, and interesting characters including a wealthy and mysterious stamp collector and an alluring Israeli female agent. There is also violence (think James Bond), and sex (about on the level of a a dime novel). This is all mixed in with subtle humor. You will come to find that the usual suspects are not the source of this mayhem. The source will only become clear as you work your way to the conclusion and will come as a surprise.
