The novel 'Vigilante' introduces John Stanton an extreme but acceptable and in some cases lovable character. A product of British Military Intelligence, at the age of sixty he had done nothing else all his life and lived through much accumulating masses of information whilst working for or with western governments. He moved to Australia in 2003 from the UK chasing his family whom he had lost when his children were young settling in the NSW coastal settlement of Newcastle where he could be close to them but had no contact his wife shutting him out. He was so used to what he did and had so many contacts he occasionally did work for the Australian and British governments. He designed Australia's computer security system and trained those who use it. He was paid immense amounts of money and invested in real estate and security for his family allover the world. He prepared for the day he could get them back but it didn't come so he just kept building.
