Synopsis

When strange things began happening at her isolated home, lonely widow Kayla Thorne turned to handyman Paul Fitzgerald for protection. But was that a mistake? Because Paul was not only an ex-cop, he was an ex-convict--though he swore he'd been framed. Yet if he was so eager to prove his innocence, why was he spending time fixing her house, instead?

Paul seemed intent on gaining her trust--and as the mysterious dangers escalated, Kayla needed someone to keep her safe. Paul was the perfect protector, because he needed nothing from her...or did he? Suddenly Kayla wondered just why Paul had come to her--and how close he meant to get....

About Diane Pershing

See more books from this Author
For years, Diane Pershing made her living as an actress and singer. She was extremely content in these professions, except for one problem--there was way too much down time, and she worried that her brain was atrophying. She'd been a voracious reader since childhood, so she took up pen and paper and began writing, first for television, then as a movie critic, then as a novelist. She started her first romance in the spirit of "What do I have to lose?" As an actress, she was already used to appearing foolish--what was one more time? She was lucky enough to sell that first romance and many more since. Along the way, her books have won some awards, including The Golden Quill, the Aspen Gold and the Orange Rose, and she's been a finalist for the prestigious Romance Writers of America's Rita Awards.Diane is happy to report that there is no more down time in her life; indeed, with writing and acting--and teaching classes in both--she now faces the dilemma of not having enough time, which she says is a quality problem indeed. She lives in Silver Lake, California, with her two cats, Gilbert and Sullivan, and waits patiently for her real children, Morgan Rose and Ben, to give her grandbabies.Diane loves to hear from her readers.
