Dieter Braun is a freelance illustrator and children's book author from Hamburg, Germany. He studied Communciation Design at the Folkwangschule in Essen. International publications like Time Magazine, The New York Times, stern, Cosmopolitan, Newsweek, Elle and Glamour are part of his many clients. The illustrations for the anniversary edition of Momo by Michael Ende are among his most recent work.

The text repeats the unfortunate and no-longer-used name “oldsquaw” for the long-tailed duck and attributes the raccoon’s name generally to “Native Americans” though it comes from a specific Algonquian word...Amazing art makes this a browser’s delight, but they should go elsewhere for solid information.
