Brief Book Description

To recover a powerful artifact belonging to her Goddess, Zia must break into the headquarters of the despotic Theocracy.

With time running out, she has to trust Alton, a handsome rogue who knows her deepest secrets. Unfortunately, that means he will be part of the divine rituals, where pleasures of the flesh fuel her magic.

Can she use his body without him stealing her heart?

Warning: This ~45,000 word novel contains explicit M/F naughtiness in public, fooling around while breaking and entering, and includes a full out f/m/f threesome while under magical assault.

EXCERPT:

He pursed his lips and leaned in close. His warm breath tickled her ear as he spoke, sending a warm shiver down her spine and wakening her Tantric center. “Awkward. Can you tell if it is the knob or the frame that is magicked?”

Entirely too conscious of his closeness, she spoke softly in his ear. “Only the lock has been enchanted.”

He tried the knob. It was locked. He examined the frame and shook his head. “It’s locked, and the hinges are inside. This is probably his office. I need to pick the lock. Can your magic shield me from triggering the spell?”

It was difficult to focus with him so close. She might have mixed feelings, but her body knew what it wanted—him. She closed her eyes, pushed him from her mind, and examined the magical signature. It might be possible, but it would be ticklish. She’d have to use her magic in conjunction with him picking the lock. Moreover, she couldn’t just enchant the tools. She would have to be involved as it was happening, so she could adjust to the spell’s reaction. That meant he had to be part of the casting.

Her body was pleased.

“The spell is subtle,” she said after a moment. She looked up at his face and considered her options. “Would you need both hands to pick the lock?”

He frowned, considering her and the lock in turn. “I might be able to do it with one hand, but it would be difficult. With it enchanted, I’d rather use both hands so I can focus.”

The corner of Zia’s lips quirked up. “Focus might prove challenging. To shield you from the spell, I have to be part of the picking, and you have to be part of the casting of my protective spell.”

“I’m not sure what you mean.”

“What do you know of how Tantric magic works?”

“That the spells are powered by sex. Are you telling me I have to pick a magical lock while we have sex?” The mixture of skepticism and interest in his voice almost made her laugh.

“Not precisely. Those with the blood of gods in their family tree can take the mystic energy of an orgasm, theirs or their partner’s, and fuel a spell. To be part of a casting, both must be involved in the act.”

“Not that I’m against the idea of making love to you, but just how can I pick a lock while doing it?”

“Are you saying you’re not up to the challenge?”

His eyes narrowed. “I could pick this lock blindfolded.”

“Let’s see if you can do it with your trousers unbuttoned.”
