There's nothing wrong with this book, but there's nothing really right about it either. At least the sex is steamy.

Synopsis

“A book by Toni Blake is truly special.”
—Lori Foster

“Her books are sexy and full of heart.”
—Teresa Medeiros

No contemporary romance author combines steamy hot and heartwarming better than Toni Blake. Now she transports readers back to the small town of Destiny, Ohio, once again in Willow Springs, as a longtime friendship turns into something oh so much more when the town matchmaker provides some very special tlc for a young fireman haunted by a tragic on-the-job experience. Like Debbie Macomber’s New York Times bestselling small-town romances but with a deliciously sexy twist, Toni Blake’s Willow Springs is a love story to cherish.

Suggestive love scenes befit the Austen theme and, though this is no easy road to happily-ever-after, it’s impossible not to empathize with and cheer for Amy in this charming tale.

The fact that I felt I was going through the ups and downs with Amy . . . is proof positive of how brilliant of an author Ms. Blake is.

While I appreciate a slow build, this was too slow and I nearly put down the book before it heated up since it was getting boring.

This was my first Destiny novel, and I really enjoyed it. This book made me think back to my high school crushes. I could relate to Amy’s shyness and fear of rejection. It seems thrilling, but scary at the same time.

...although I wasn't completely convinced by the romance, I did really like this book. The writing was great, the characters were all really well fleshed out, even the side characters I fely like I knew even though I haven't read the other books.

Overall, I liked the book and loved Amy, but it was darker than I was expecting (because Amy is such a sweet, light-hearted person in the other books). And I did like Logan, but his depression made him a different person than he had been in the other books...
