By 25 pages in, I was emotionally invested in the story and in Jaime's character.
Full ReviewI enjoyed the way the plot played out - even the last little sucker punch at the very end. Also - I loved the character of LaVon and how he became important to Jaime's life.
Full ReviewI'd definitely be open to reading more by Joelle, I just don't think this was the right book for me.
Full ReviewI could go on and on, but my raving cannot do this book justice.
Full ReviewThe Right & The Real is one of those books that take you by surprise. You pick it up expecting a good story, but then find yourself unable to put it down.
Full ReviewAnyways, I strongly encourage you to give this book a chance to impress you.
Full ReviewAll in all, I was, yet again, blown away by an incredible issue book.
Full ReviewOverall, this book is a marvelous read. I recommend this to contemporary lovers. It was a light and fast read. Beautifully written! I look forward to read another book from Joelle Anthony.
Full ReviewAs with LaVon, the novel’s main weakness is when it tips towards what we would like to happen in this situation, rather than portraying what is real, particularly in the final act, where a fun but over-the-top caper dominates the action.
Full ReviewI'm very happy to have given The Right & The Real by Joëlle Anthony a chance because it turned out to be the kind of book I will be recommending to people for a long time.
Full ReviewI really hope you give this book a chance because this is definitely one of the best contemporaries I've read this year.
Full ReviewIn the end, loose ends are tied up a little too nicely but they only open doors to other loose ends, and that was the only thing that I didn’t like about this book.
Full ReviewOverall, Joëlle Anthony has written an uplifting, fast-paced story that is recommended for teens that lean towards real life stories.
Full ReviewIt's really one of the greatest contemporary YA novels I've read this year, right up there with Paper Towns, and Mare's War.
Full ReviewOverall, Joelle Anthony has written an amazing book and I absolutely cannot wait for her next novel!
Full ReviewI enjoyed Janie's journey immensely and it should go without saying that I am looking forward to whatever Joelle Anthony has for us next.
Full ReviewI didn’t like any of the main characters. I wanted to but I couldn’t relate or connect with them.
Full ReviewI will most definitely be recommending The Right & The Real to anyone looking for an Alluring Read.
