It is because of Alyx’s ability to move an existing story forward, while interweaving the pre-existing story, that my brain was able to get over itself and accept even the romantic relationships and fantastical events, anchored with a good dose of realism and even mention of science.
Full ReviewFar from disappointing but not quite what the first volume seemed to promise.
Full ReviewThe intriguing core concepts and potential for a worthwhile tale are lost in a quagmire of complex plotting as the threat of global disaster takes a backseat to Will’s personal issues, Sahara’s trial, and the squabbling of Astrid’s followers.

Full ReviewI feel that it’s actually stronger on character development but it doesn’t quite, for me, stand on it’s own (without reading Indigo Springs) and the plot spreads so much wider almost right from the start that it’s difficult to pick up the threads at times.
Full ReviewOverall, I’m happy with Dellamonica’s work, despite this book not wowing me as much as Indigo Springs did, but I’m eager to see what else the author has in store.
