In all honesty, it’s probably going to be moved to my short list of favorite books.
Full Review. . .if you're a fan of police procedurals from Michael Connolly, Elmore Leonard or Joseph Wambaugh and you miss the bio-tech science fiction of the late, great Michael Crichton, you'll find "Nocturnal" a treat.
Full ReviewThere was a small infodump about genetics in the middle of the book that completely lost me, but otherwise Sigler managed to interweave a pseudo-magic system that had a grounding in science fact and made a lot of sense.
Full ReviewThere is a realism that surrounds Bryan and Pookie, in fact all the characters in the novel, that really makes it easy for a reader to get caught in the narrative.
Full ReviewA bait-and-switch for fans of police noir, but red meat for readers who wish Harry Potter had swapped his YA credentials for a badge and gun.
Full ReviewI like the mix of genres, but would actually have liked more of the science, particularly the genetics since it was so important to the story.
Full ReviewNocturnal is truly a unique book, a perfect combination of police procedural, urban fantasy, bio-tech science fiction, and horror.
Full ReviewNocturnal is an exceptional horror novel that manages to entertain from beginning to end, recommended.
Full ReviewThe narrative is very well-written and the characters are deep; it was easy to get sucked into the freakish world that Sigler had created.
Full ReviewLike most of Sigler's work, Nocturnal is dark, exciting, funny and smart.
Full ReviewWith plenty of twists and turns, interesting characters, and a fair share of blood and gore, Nocturnal is an enthralling read for horror fans.
