DANGEROUS. RUTHLESS. SAVAGE. AND SHE'S THE GOOD GUY.FIRST IN A NEW SERIESAdopted by an army ranger, Abby Sinclaire was molded into a master of self-defense. Now, she's an assassin using raw nerve to always come out on top. Her latest assignment is to snuff out a dangerous arms dealer hiding in the underground Colombian sex trade. When the sting goes wrong, mercenary Kane Woodland is recruited as back-up. But their unexpected primal attraction could put them both at risk. Their only rule:get out of that hellhole alive.
Bottom line I never understood the how and why of this romance. It actually felt like the heroine’s lines and details got switched with some other heroine
Full ReviewIf you're looking for a chilling, hardcore romantic suspense loaded with sensuality, military camaraderie and dry humor, why not arrange for a Midnight Rescue
Full ReviewThe action scenes are interesting—those are probably the strong point of the novel. Unfortunately they bookend a lot of much less interesting material. I could find only one member of Morgan’s team that didn’t seem like a highly familiar stereotype....Elle Kennedy’s Midnight Rescue: A Killer Instincts Novel carried it to an illogical extreme.
Full ReviewThis was a very enjoyable first novel in a new series. Each character was touched upon so we have a lot to look forward to.
Full ReviewMidnight Rescue is by all means an action-military-romance novel. Mrs. Kennedy does very deep and shows us how spies work with false names and disguises. I loved reading about this and it was so different from most other books of this genre. This is a fast paced, action filled, oh-my-god-what's-going-to happen-next ride and I never wanted to get off.
Full ReviewAll in all romantic suspense fans will want to get a hold of this book! I loved the sense of comradery between the men, I love the mystery surrounding the other team members, and the balance of action and rest time
Full ReviewOverall, Midnight Rescue was an average special ops novel
Full ReviewThe action is raw and deadly, and the passion sizzling. Romantic suspense just gained a major new player!
Full ReviewThe plot action kept me reading this book, and if somewhat cliched, it still held my interest. I like a good action story even if the author isn't necessarily breaking new ground
Full ReviewI also felt like I never go to KNOW either of the characters. I feel like I knew things. I knew sums of parts, and could see the equation but I never felt like I could see the whole, like I could really humanize, or visualize, or grasp, Abby or Kane. I LIKED Abby, I kind of enjoyed Kane but not being able to really “see” them as full people, full characters.
Full ReviewOverall I enjoyed this action packed and suspense novel. I can’t wait to see what progresses with Abby and Kane
Full ReviewFor all of the action that this book should have had there were definite stops and starts in the story. It went from fast to slow and back again and when it was slow it was really slow.
Full ReviewThis opening act in the Killer Instinct romantic suspense is an exciting thriller as the assassin and the mercenary fight, fight, and fight while falling in love. Fast-paced, fans who appreciate an in your face couple (thinks of the offspring) will relish visiting Columbia.
Full ReviewThe first book in the Killer Instincts series is often dark, sometimes has a touch of humor and is definitely packed with suspenseful action.
Full ReviewMidnight Rescue has a great plot with pretty kick ass characters in it. I love what Abby has been through and how strong of a character she is. I never doubted that she could get the job done
Full ReviewThis is an exciting story that keeps you engaged until the end, feeling like you are part of the team. The characters are believable, and the back stories maintain your interest as you want to find out what happens.
Full ReviewI didn’t care for Abby that much. She is just so very damaged and her past made the romance hard to believe
