Coleman... seems to be trying to do too much in this novel, and the shift from comedy to drama is a bit jarring.

Coleman’s writing style helps bring it all to life, and the wit woven throughout the book will surely win over any reader who picks this one up.

I wasn't instantly grabbed as easily by the story because of the wordiness... Also, the concept of magic shoes or clothing from a mysterious store has been used in other novels, so the originality factor was not really there this time.
