Overall, I found A Search for Family by Murray Lee Eiland, Jr. to be a highly entertaining, fast-paced light mystery/thriller. Though this is the second book in “The Bart Northcote Series”, it definitely holds its own as a solid standalone story, and I look forward to the next installment. Great read.
Perhaps the main reason why this book marks the reader is that while everyone has grieved something, it is usually portrayed in most media as something unnecessarily dramatic and over-the-top. However, in Misplaced, the grief displayed by Adam seems so real...
Certain facts are revealed after Sally’s mother’s death but in a perfunctory, mundane way that lacks any dramatic tension or surprise...A trauma-filled book that misses the mark due to a frustrating lack of resolution.
